Outlaw partnered with San Francisco-based Hiball Energy in 2015, serving numerous roles including strategic planning, website development, e-commerce management, content, promotion and email development, video production, social media support and analytics reporting.
In 2016 Outlaw redesigned and relaunched Hiball’s website – hiballer.com – including full development and integration of its online e-commerce store.
The client’s main goals were to enhance the brand presence, increase sales, and position Hiball Energy as the world’s leading organic energy drink company. Initiatives included developing and streamlining content with a focus on lifestyle/athlete/product integration, updated simplified navigation, product photography, videos, descriptive SEO copy, social media feed integration, inventory management, shipping fulfillment, and backend functionality to accept online payments and manage sales.
Outlaw further recommended and implemented a full service subscription ordering platform that, for the first time, allowed customers to subscribe to monthly subscriptions to products. This addition helped expand customer loyalty and build automatic, recurring monthly revenue in addition to one-off orders.
The client’s internal sales team was also in need of a way to manage wholesale and client sample orders, so Outlaw implemented a backend solution, tied to the Shopfiy platform, to manage wholesale shipments. This has created a seamless process from request to fulfillment – saving hundreds of hours and greatly improving the team’s ability to efficiently fulfill orders.
In July 2017, Hiball Energy was acquired by Anheuser-Bush – a testament to Hiball’s strong market position and growth. Outlaw continues to manage Hiball’s e-commerce web and email platforms.
The relaunch of Hiball’s website has resulted in a +201% increase in online sales over the past 18 months. Content performance-wise, the site has achieved a bounce rate of less than 38% – a number unheard of in the e-commerce industry (avg 60%+). Site users have increased by over 887%, and the average visitor is spending over 2:09 minutes and viewing 3.19 pages per session.
