Born and raised in Big Sky, Julia is among the proud few who can consider themselves true locals. She joined Outlaw full time in June 2022 after graduating from the University of Southern California with a degree in journalism and minors in photography and social change, and communication design.

Diverse coursework during her undergraduate studies fostered a love for multimedia storytellings. Julia is passionate about broadening the scope for how readers interact with stories and enjoys incorporating thoughtful photography and design into her work. She regards storytelling as one of the most powerful tools in enacting change.

When she’s not at her desk, Julia often spends time in the mountains hiking, skiing, climbing and creating art. She believes strongly in the magical properties of the outdoors and finds her best ideas when alone in nature.
