Digital & Distribution Assistant
Kirby was born and raised in Kennewick, Washington and graduated from Eastern Washington University with a degree in Recreation Management and Eco Tourism in the Spring of 2015. He spent his college summers working for Peak 7 Adventures out of Spokane as a climbing guide working with underprivileged and at-risk youth. Grubaugh also spent six years working with Marmot Sales Reps out of the Pacific Northwest helping plan and execute seasonal outdoor demos for REI and Ma-and-Pa shop employees.
Although Grubaugh went snowboarding a handful of times with his uncle growing up, he got his first ever season pass upon moving to Big Sky at age 23, which sparked a new found love for sliding on snow.
In October of 2018, Grubaugh got his first camera and dove head first into the photography world—with YouTube and other photog friends guiding his way. When he landed a web exclusive on The Snowboarders Journal after covering the 20th Annual Nate Chute Banked Slalom and Boardercross, he knew he wanted to do more with photojournalism.
Grubaugh joined the Outlaw team in October of 2019 to help with distribution of Outlaw publications, as well as assist with the organization’s social media needs in an ever-evolving digital world.
When Grubaugh isn’t at work you can usually find him riding a single track or searching for untouched pow with his wife, Liv, and their dog, Crux.
